Cat’s life seems perfect. She’s one of the popular girls, loves to hang out with her friends, and now they rule the school as eighth graders. The “joking around” her friends do hurts them in ways she didn’t realize.

She had never thought of herself as a bully, but now that her eyes have been opened, she has a difficult decision to make. Should she keep her circle of friends or take a stand and walk away. But will it be too late to fix the damage she’s already done?

The scariest person Cat has ever seen is Mr. One-Eyed Scar Face, also known as Mr. Williams, the school janitor. Everyone always said he was some type of monster, and Cat and her friends have always believed it. But soon they begin to realize that not every thing they hear is true. Not even close.

As Cat and her friends search for the truth about Mr. Williams, they find themselves surrounded by rumors and gossip. All the while, Cat continues to see visions of truth about the people around her.

Will the group of friends stand and fight for what is right? Or will they take the easy way out and believe everything they hear?
